Rivers of Regeneration
at the Katherine E. Nash Gallery, Regis Center for Art on the West Bank of the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis campus, February 23 to March 25, 2010 hosted an art exhibition and related programs that built awareness, provoked action, and posed solutions for the need to understand water as a universal human right.
The exhibition included invited artists as well as a juried selection of work by women from the upper Mississippi River basin.
Noted art writer/critic Lucy R. Lippard juried this component of the exhibition.
She was a distinguished speaker on March 4 at 6 pm in the Cowles Auditorium, Hubert Humphrey Auditorium. Her presentation was titled “Ripple Effects”.

In addition, an international mail art exhibition of postcard entries from adults and students resulting from a worldwide call was in the Quarter Gallery adjacent to the Nash Gallery in the Regis Center for Art.

Over 3000 people visited the exhibition. Through art, serious dialogues were initiated regarding social justice issues in the local and global community.
