Minneapolis, MN 55401

The exhibition will include artwork by Traffic Zone Artists: Jantje Visscher, Steve Ozone, Jodi Reeb-Myers, Bonnie Heller, Bette Globus Goodman, Kristie Bretzke, Jon Neuse,  Perci Chester and Lisa Nankivil.  They will be investigating water as subject and material in their work. The artists work in a variety of media including painting, mixed media, sculpture, encaustic, video, and photography.

This exhibit will address grappling with the questions and challenges of what must be done to sustain the water of the world.  These expressions are a critical component to the international dialogues about access to water and the need for creative solutions.

This exhibition is partnering with the Catherine Nash Gallery at the University of Minnesota. The Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom (WILPF) Minnesota Metro Branch Arts Committee, the Women’s Caucus for Art (WCA) Minnesota Branch, TheFeministArtProject, Rutgers, NJ and the Department of Art, University of Minnesota are organizing a series of events and an exhibition that presents artists’ views of water rights and ways of conceptualizing ecological change. The time frame coincides with the UN Decade of Water; March is Women’s History Month; and World Water Day is in March.
